What is Professional Assertive United Sisters of Excellence? P.A.U.S.E. is a Registered Student Organization on the University of Memphis Campus. It was started by Samantha Frazier, along with nine other women about five years ago. It was created to unite the Women at the University of Memphis off all races, creed, and economic background. P.A.U.S.E. has grown over the years and currently has over 100 paid members who are actively involved on campus. What does P.A.U.S.E. do? We work to encourage success academically, professionally, and socially in female students by providing information, training, and networking opportunities. Academically we hold study groups in the library at least twice a month. Professionally we host workshops that focus on various topics such as Resume Writing, Interviewing Techniques, and How to Dress for Success.
Although P.A.U.S.E. is seen as a Professional Organization, P.A.U.S.E. has fun! We have movie nights and hosts several different events on campus. We ensure that our members are building their professional skills while having fun and connecting with other members.
Community Service
Our Current Philanthropy is Upward Steps located about seven minutes from campus. Our members are offered an opportunity to increase their community service hours by getting actively involved in their community.
The girls at Upward Steps are amazing, and they look forward to seeing the girls of P.A.U.S.E. each week.
We also get involved with Service on Saturday which is a program on campus that goes out and do community service once a month.

This year's theme we will focus on embracing the inner woman from academic success to inner growth. We believe that a well-rounded woman is knowledgeable of the basic essentials that it takes to be successful in both the collegiate and corporate world. If you want to grow academically, socially, and professionally, then look no more. We encourage all women to be aware of the problems that face us, and it is our mission to lead you to the right direction.
